For the first time in seven years, the team at Red Hill Brewery in Victoria have added a new beer to their permanent range.

This new brew – apparently the brewer’s favourite – is part of the brand’s new strategy which has included closing down their cellar door (except for functions) and focusing on expansion of their distribution. As such the new brew is available in Melbourne, the Peninsula, WA and Sydney – see www.redhillbrewery.com.au for details.

According to Karen and Dave – the husband and wife duo behind the brews – their Pilsner is based on one of their most popular seasonal brews. The unfiltered brew has a generous malt character with a generous hop bitterness thanks to three additions of hop flowers in the boil. Further steeped with hops in the conditioning tanks during cold fermentation this definitely sounds like one for the hop heads.
