It’s no secret that music and beer go hand in hand – and to help celebrate that long-running partnership, and to foster up-and-coming musical talent, Carlton Dry is kicking the tin to the tune of $50,000 for a lucky emerging musical talent.

The initiative is part of the brand’s sponsorship of the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) Awards, which recognise new talent and the hard work done by Aussie independent labels.

Conditions for entry are that the band or artist must be emerging, Australian, self-released or released by an independent label and that the prize money must be used exclusively to help tour, showcase, record or relocate overseas to further their careers.

“We reckon Australian music deserves the chance to make it on a global scale. Acts like Flume, Jagwar Ma, Big Scary, Seth Sentry, RUfUs, Flight Facilities and The Rubens are amassing huge fan bases both here and around the world. This award is designed to give new Australian artists a better opportunity to crack the international market,” said Andrew Meldrum, General Manager of Marketing for Carlton Dry.
