The fifth annual Sydney Craft Beer Week (SCBW) is in full swing, with beer lovers making their way through more than 130 events across Sydney.

Highlights so far include the opening gala, sour beer events at The Local Taphouse and Spooning Goats, Modus Operandi’s golf game and the Little Creatures Beer School to name a few.

“It’s been the best year yet! I’ve been festival director for four years now and I’ve never seen more people enjoying craft beer than I have this week,” said SCBW director Joel Connolly.

“The Opening Gala really kicked things off. In store for beer lovers over the next week are over 130 events held in over 70 bars, restaurants, breweries and outdoor spaces across town.”

With the festival wrapping up this Sunday there are still loads more beer-soaked events to get along to in the name of craft beer.

Five must-do SCBW events:

A long standing event that brings folks from the beer world together to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital, Amber Affair is a great night with excellent beers and loads of good people. Do not miss it!

Red Duck Brewery make some of the most interesting and varied beers in Australia. For the first time in years the head brewer and owner of Red Duck will be in Sydney and you can high five him over a frosty one.

Join the craft beer industry as they celebrate the forward thinking, technically brilliant, creative personalities of the craft beer world. Sample some of the best beers produced in the past year.

3 states, 6 IPAs and mountains of meat. Need we say more? Bridge Road Brewers, Big Shed Brewing and Ekim Brewing are bringing some of their best IPAs to this meatfest.

This event does what it says on the box. Some of the best beers from SCBW will be tapped for a final knees-up. A good time will be had by all!
