The latest Nordic country to get on the beer export bandwagon is Iceland, with stocks of the country’s Viking beer set to hit Dan Murphy’s stores in early April.

Described as “Iceland’s national brew” the beer is brewed using glacial water from its country of origin and has been given a new label – featuring the Norse god Odin – for the Australian market.

Viking is a full-strength Golden Lager brewed in the European Pilsner method.

The brew will be available in six packs ($18.99) and cases ($59.99) in Dan Murphy’s stores and online at www.danmurphys.com.au

In-store tastings will be held from from 11 April 2013.
