The official opening of the Granite Belt Brewery was held onsite at Happy Valley Retreat, Stanthorpe on the evening of Thursday 4th October. Owners Geoff and Dee Davenport invited over 100 guests to the event, which went off without a hitch.
The MC for the evening was Greg Thouard and the Mayor of the Southern Downs Peter Blundell proudly cut the ribbon to the brewery viewing window. Adding to the sense of occasion was Emeritus Archbishop Bathersby, who blessed the new microbrewery.

Canapés and a fork buffet were served with local Granite Belt wine and, of course, the best craft beer in the Southern Downs. Guests were entertained by country singer James Blundell and his partner Jessie Curran.
