The pet project of Melbourne App developers ProjectProject, in tandem with anonymous concept inventors, The Free Beer App is the creatively named app that will allow users to redeem a free beer every day.
Pitched at smaller breweries, Creative Director and Co-CEO of ProjectProject Chris Gillard says that the app is designed to help the craft beer market pitch themselves to an enthusiastic crowd of cheapskates, ie every Australian of drinking age.
“It’s a simple and cheap way for small operators, pubs and bars to get people through their doors,” he says. “But it is also a win for those of us who can appreciate the amazing beery freeness of the whole thing.”
The type of beer on offer is up to the establishment, with users simply purchasing the app then nicking down to their closest participating venue to redeem their daily voucher.
However, the app still needs venues to participate in the scheme with the first 200 listings being offered for free – as such the app is as yet unlaunched.
For more information on the app or to enquire about participating head to www.thefreebeerapp.com.
The app will be available for iPhone and Android devices and will cost $1.99.
