Cider Australia has announced the 2021 Australian Cider Awards will go ahead after the event was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

Registrations for the the tenth annual awards will open in early August ahead of mid-October judging and a presentation dinner that has been pencilled in for October 29. You can view the awards style guide here.

Cider Australia president, and chair of the Awards organising team, Warwick Billings (pictured) said they were expecting a record number of entries for Australia’s largest cider show, as producers look to benchmark their products against the best local and imported ciders.

In 2019, 276 local and international cider and perry products entered the show where Barossa Cider Co’s Squashed Apple Cider was named Best in Show.

“An incredible team of judges is getting ready to assess hundreds of entries in Australia’s largest ‘blind’ cider tasting,” Warwick said. “We will be announcing some changes to the schedule to keep the range of products that can be entered contemporary and in line with the market.”
