It has been 60 years since Grafton Bitter went on sale and 15 years since the brewery was closed down by parent company Tooheys, but the brew is set to return thanks to the renegade brewers at Thunder Road.

Earlier in the year it was reported that the Melbourne-based craft brewer intended to fight the big brewers for the right to brew beers that had been discontinued, the recipes hidden away in archives.

With the promise to brew the beer better, with flavour and body not found in mass-produced beers, Thunder Road have certainly come out swinging. And no doubt thirsty old-school Bitter fans will be anticipating the return of this iconic brew.
