Fancy Brews for the Connoisseur:
Domain Dupont Pommeau de Normandie 700ml
A17% ABV blend of one-year-old calvados, and mout, apple juice that has fermented to around 1% ABV. After being carefully blended in oak casks, Pommeau is transferred to 4-5 year old 400L oak casks, where it is carefully matured for at least 30 months. Perhaps Dupont’s greatest creation, Pommeau displays amazing complexities of vanilla, crystallised apples, prunes and toasted hazelnuts.
Le Baladin Xyauyu Riserva Beer 2010 500ml
At 14.5% alcohol, this maderised (cooked) and bottle fermented beer is robust, un-carbonated and port-like with an aroma of caramelized malt, figs and sweet tobacco. In the mouth this beer is syrupy and smooth with notes of oak, figs, nuts, and hints of brandy and Oloroso sherry.
Crown Ambassador Reserve 2012 750mL
The prestige lager has been expertly aged in French oak barrels for three months from highly regarded French cooperage Dargaud et Jaegle imparting an even deeper and more concentrated flavour to this truly exceptional beer. Only 7000 individually numbered bottles are available; Crown Ambassador Reserve will only be available for a very limited time.
