It’s no secret that cider is growing pretty quickly in the Australasian market – but did you know that sales grew a whopping 43% between June 2011 and June 2012?

Tapping into the market is a well-established cider brand, Bulmers – loved on tap and by the bottle by thousands of beer-garden devotees around the nation. Those folk will no doubt be overjoyed to learn that Bulmers has branched out to include a ginger cider in the line-up – a combination cider and yet another growth market, ginger beer.

The good folks at Bulmers tell us that its “true to its roots. Bulmers Ginger is amber in colour with a golden hue and a fresh ginger aroma, overlaying the distinct apple cider characters”. It’s got a sweet kick on first taste, followed by a dry crisp finish, which sets it up well as a good summer sipper for a hot Sunday afternoon.

To help launch Bulmers Ginger, they’ve set up a facebook page with a competition – winners receive VIP passes to the Bulmers ginger launch. Head along to facebook and tell Bulmers what you’re proud to be, and you’ll be in the running.

Bulmers Ginger tips the scales at 4% ABV (about 1.6 standard drinks per 500ml bottle) and is available through a range of premium outlets, including Dan Murphy’s.
