The Craft Beer Industry Association (CBIA) has been contacted by the Australian Embassy in
Stockholm about the possibility of holding an event in the city next year to promote
Australian craft beer.
Apparently the embassy staff have noticed an upswing in the level of interested in craft beer in Sweden in general. As a result they believe that there may be a good opportunity
for Australian craft brewers who are looking to export.
The CBIA are canvassing plans to hold an
event at the Ambassador’s residence with invitations extended to 50-100 guests
from the Swedish alcohol industry. These would include importers, representatives from the
state run monopoly alcohol retailer and bar and restaurant owners.
