Entries to the 2013 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) will open on Monday, 7 January 2013 with the 21st year set to ring in some changes.

AIBA Chief Judge Brad Rogers says that the awards are continuing to innovate in order to reflect the changes in the industry in order to maintain its relevance in promoting great beer and brewing.

“Consumers are looking for indicators of quality. Winning a medal at the AIBA is one way a brewery can stand out from the crowd,” he says. “The 2013 competition has new trophies, and high calibre industry expert judges, reinforcing the AIBA’s status as one of the most prestigious competitions of its kind.”

In 2012 the AIBA attracted a record 1,344 entries from 41 countries around the world, including the United States, New Zealand, Belgium, Brazil, Germany and Norway.
