Your Mates Brewing is hosting a one-day celebration called Feel-Good Frothy Rodeo, as a part of The Curated Plate Festival, a 10-day food and drink festival held across a number of local venues on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Matt Hepburn, CEO and Co-founder of Your Mates Brewing said he is excited about the event that will take place at Your Mates Warana brewery on 1 August and is set to champion the brewery’s core values.

“We’re stoked to be part of The Curated Plate, showcasing our beers, food, and the Sunshine Coast community we’re proud to call home. It’s a great chance to catch up with our local mates and meet new ones who haven’t discovered us yet. This event is all about mateship, music, and good times – everything Your Mates is about.”

The event will feature live music, a special beer line-up and curated food menu that includes the return of its local-favourite meat board.

Head of Hospitality Brent Colautti told Beer & Brewer beyond the core range of beers, three new brews will be featured at the event including ‘Bluey’, a six per cent Red IPA, a 4.5 per cent mixed berry sour and a bold 11.5 per cent Imperial Stout.

Colautti echoed Hepburn’s sentiment and described the inspiration and creative direction of the rodeo as one that celebrates local partnerships and community.

“Partnering with The Curated Plate, an initiative championing local producers, we wanted to shake up the typically formal events in this space,” he said.

“The rodeo theme allows us to throw a lively, authentic, and ripper event that embodies good times, great food, and genuine mateship, playing directly to our strengths. We’re bringing the rodeo to life with a mechanical bull, dress-up competitions, and hay bales for ambiance.”

There will be bucking bull challenges giving patrons the chance to compete and get into the country spirit along with a best-dressed competition with $300 worth of prizes up for grabs.

The live music line-up features country artists Alexis and Suzie and the Pat Nicholson and Craig Madden Band playing original music and sing-along favourites.

As a part of the event, Your Mates is hosting a raffle to support Grab Life by the Balls, a charity focused on raising awareness for men’s mental health and creating solutions to prevent male suicide.

Colautti highlighted the impact of the collaboration in strengthening community bonds and supporting men’s mental health on the Sunshine Coast community and beyond.

“Partnering with Grab Life by the Balls is incredibly important to us. As an annual collaboration, our support through raffles helps them host vital events across QLD, NSW, and VIC. This not only builds momentum and financial backing but, crucially, generates more connections.”

He added: “These moments of mateship can significantly improve men’s lives and even prevent suicide, aligning perfectly with our values of community support and looking out for each other.”
