Australia’s largest independent brewery Coopers has signed on as the official and exclusive beer sponsor of two Australian music festivals, Spilt Milk and Strummingbird – doubling down on its support for live music.
The sponsorship will see Coopers’ beer flowing at seven large-scale events over the course of the festivals, held across five states. They will run from October through to December.
With artists spanning indie, electronic, hip hop, pop and rock, Spilt Milk festival runs in Perth, Ballarat, Canberra and the Gold Coast and is expected to attract a total crowd upwards of 190,000.
This year’s headline artist is Kendrick Lamar, who performed at this year’s Superbowl Half time show.
Strummingbird – held in Newcastle, the Sunshine Coast and Perth – is new on the national festival calendar. It is expected to draw more than 60,000 patrons and features Jelly Roll and Shaboozey on the world-class country music line up.
Coopers Australian Lager will be one of the main beers to be served at all events alongside Coopers Mild Ale and its new non-alcoholic offering, Coopers Zero.
The sponsorship of the festivals sees Coopers teaming up once more with global entertainment group Live Nation after they joined forces during the pandemic to run the Live, Loud and Local music series, supporting Australian artists and venues across the country.
Coopers Brewery Managing Director Michael Shearer commented on the strength of the continued partnership with the ticketing company.
“Coopers is a long-time supporter of live music, from large-scale festivals to front bars right across Australia. It’s great to partner with Live Nation again so festival-goers at Spilt Milk and Strummingbird can enjoy our finest Australian beer while watching their favourite artists up on stage.”
