The home of James Squire in Adelaide, The Curious Squire, has launched a beer school of their own, with hour long ‘Beer 101’ sessions running every six weeks.

For the small price of $25 – which includes James Squire beer tastings and canapés to match – punters will learn about everything craft beer.

According to Antony Tropeano, owner of The Curious Squire, the Brewniversity is for true beer enthusiasts who wish to expand their beer knowledge.

“A first for Adelaide, Brewniversity takes ‘beer clubs’ to the next level and provides an opportunity for likeminded beer lovers to connect, interact, and share their passion, with the intent of creating an exclusive rogues club at the end of the course,” he says.

Lead by craft beer specialist Dean Michael Jackson and The Curious Squire’s very own ‘Beer Captain’ Josh Smith, topics include:

– Beer history

– Beer ingredients

– Water – the integrity and purity of beer

– Barley – its effect on beer

– Hops – the spice of beer

– Yeast – the life of beers

– The Malster – Malts in Beer
