Danish brewer Amager Bryghus (Ah-mar Bri-koose) has proudly released an extensive list of its latest brews.

The list starts with two pale ales: Christianshavn and Sinner Series: Sloth. The former is described as a light biscuity malt with the aromas of grapefruit, peach and a touch of pine. The Sloth is brewed with just one variety of malt (Pilsner), one hop (Simcoe) and one type of yeast (American Ale).

The Sloth is part of its Sinner Serie’ that also includes the new Lust – a Belgian Strong Ale described as sweet and luscious – as well as a Saison, Wrath – aged in Pinot Noir oak barrels.

Amager Bryghus’ Julebryg, Vintage 2011 is a deep golden Imperial Mild flavoured with caramel and mild spices as well as tones of berries and citrus. While the complex Quadrupel Ale ‘Secret Santa’ was matured in oak barrels with pine needles for a wintery flavour.

There are also three IPAs. The simply named IPA is thoroughly dry hopped with Simcoe, Amarillo and Cascade, resulting in fruity fresh, bitter tones while the Imperial IPA, Rated XxX, uses over 30 different varieties of hops. And their Wookiee IPA is a west coast USA-style IPA produced in collaboration with Port Brewing, USA.

On the Stout front, their Fru Frederiksen is brewed from black malt, chocolate malt and roasted barley for strong coffee and cocoa tones while Hr. Frederiksen is a pitch black Imperial Stout, with a dense and creamy head, produced from 8 different malts and hops.

Amager Bryghus’ winter releases are rounded off by three rare barrel aged varieties. The ‘POP Portwine Oatmeal Porter’ is marketed as silky, viscous, rich and dark with a distinctive chocolate and vanilla profile complimenting port tones. The ‘Hr. Frederiksen Danish Redwine Edition’, an Imperial Stout with grape and oak tones, is aged for 12 months in a Danish red wine barrel while the ‘Hr. Frederiksen Colorado Whisky Edition’ spends 26 months in a Stranahans Colorado Whiskey barrel for 26 months.
