The Smith Street Band have teamed up with Melbourne’s Fixation Brewing Co to create their very own exclusive brew, The Lee Hartney Experience Poolside Ale.

Named after the band’s lead guitarist, this full-flavoured, easy-drinking beer is brewed with Pale and Weyermann specialty malts, and hopped with American-grown Amarillo and Citra hops, as well as being heavily dry hopped.

The partnership came about following a gig from The Smith Street Band which was attended by the team from Fixation. Following Hartney’s performance, it was collectively decided that he needed his very own beer.

The beer will be available exclusively at the fifth annual Beer InCider Experience in Brisbane, which will be held at Brisbane Showgrounds from Friday 21 September to Saturday 22 September.

“The Beer InCider Experience handpicks the best beer, cider, music, art and food to create an epic festival,” says Martin Keetels, who founded the Beer InCider Experience five years ago. “Not only will this year’s event have more breweries than ever before, it will also have more festival exclusive brews and collaborations.”

The Smith Street Band will be headlining the festival alongside The Jungle Giants, with the rest of the musical line-up including Tired Lion, Bad//Dreems, Press Club, Bugs, Bris192 and Sweater Curse.

A program of Q&A sessions and debates will also be held at the Brewer Stage, presented by Aether Brewing, while food trucks will provide burgers, pizzas and BBQ throughout.
