Rocks Brewing Co has always been a brand dedicated to their unique conviction of producing great craft beer.

The new brewery has been five years in the planning and as the recently hinted-at plans show, it is sure to be impressive – producing one million litres of beer in the first year alone. More than that the venue will be a destination for Sydneysiders looking for great food and good company, as well as a Mecca for craft beer fans.

The brand is also looking to expand their reach, appointing Tim Fishwick (ex-Little Creatures Sales Director) as the new Head of Sales, as of this week. With 15 years in the business, the last five of which were spent running the sales for the east coast of Australia for Little Creatures. Managing director and owner Mark Fethers is understandably chuffed with the newest member of the Rocks team.

“This is a massive investment in the future of Rocks Brewing Co and I am sure it will show a lot of people in the industry that we are very serious about the future of the company and are making sure we are putting the right people in the right positions,” he says. “I am very excited to have Tim on board as he will not only be running our sales team but will also sit on the board and give valuable input into the future of the company’s sales strategies.”

Fishwick has also expressed his pleasure at joining Rocks, especially with regards to the big plans the brewery has for the future.

“After coming from such a great company as Little Creatures it’s great to be involved with Mark and the team selling a local Sydney brand that’s helping spread the word of drinking great beer every day,: he says. “I’m here because I know in 6-8 months’ time I’ll be having a beer straight from the source of the new brewery in Alexandria and being able to bring Rocks customers into experience what Rocks Brewing is all about.”

It’s a monumental time for Rocks right now, with a new director, Simon Osborn, also coming aboard. Simon has a wealth of experience – Sales Director for People Magazine (ACP) before joining the McDonalds team running and owning restaurants for the past 20 years – and will be heavily involved in shaping the future of the Rocks dream.

“I can’t wait to see the Rocks Brewing Co’s brewery up and going,” he says. “It’s so exciting building and working on a project that has massive potential. The young enthusiasm of the team behind the project is nothing short of brilliant. It’s been all go from my first day on the team, and I look forward every day to coming to work, how can you go wrong? It’s all beer and skittles.”

According to Fethers, Osbourne’s translatable industry experience will be an invaluable resource.

“Simon’s going to be great for not only myself as a sounding board and someone to bring me back to reality every now and again,” says Fethers. “But also his knowledge of processes and margins that have come from 20 years of working with McDonalds. The Craft beer game is so reliant on margins and maximising profits that I need someone like this to keep us on the right path going forward.”
