A Victorian-brewed alcoholic ginger beer made with 300
kilograms of Queensland ginger has nearly sold out of its 400-case batch
since December.

The Ginger Kid’s popularity has certainly exceeded the expectations of its prodicers at Harcourt Valley Vineyards, with the owners reportedly getting requests for the brew from places they have never even heard of. Thankfully there is another batch on the way to sooth thirsty fans.

The brew came about as a reaction to overly sweet ginger beers on the market, with the Harcourt brewers utilising the heat and spice that comes from fresh
ginger to create a unique version of the now ubiquitous style.

The
Ginger Kid is available at the Harcourt Valley Vineyard cellar door as well as assorted outlets and restaurants in Castlemaine and Bendigo.
