According to Joe Thorp, Hoshizaki Lancer’s Managing Director, the fit-outs were an important part of the company’s business development strategy.
The 2012 venues included: Perth Arena – a new 15,500 seat music and sports entertainment venue, Metricon Stadium – a new 25,000 seat stadium and home to the Gold Coast Suns, The Sydney Cricket Ground – a 46,000 seat iconic sporting ground, Skoda Stadium – home of Greater Western Sydney Football team, Angle Park – Adelaide’s premier greyhound racing venue, and Randwick Race Course – Sydney’s major horse racing venue.
In total the work included the installation of 500 beer taps – mounted on 120 founts, 20 multi fill units – each capable of pouring up to 1,800 beers in an hour (that’s a lot of beer), and more than 2,000 metres of hosing to transfer the beer from kegs to the taps.
All of the equipment installed was constructed in South Australia at Hoshizaki Lancer’s Beverley factory. Including the equipment that is shipped to high profile international sporting stadium contracts, such as London’s Wembley Stadium, the Auckland stadiums of Eden Park and North Harbour plus Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium.
“All of these venues required highly reliable systems capable of high flow service in short periods with low energy running costs,” Thorp says. “Audiences don’t want to miss out on any sporting action waiting in queues, and the faster stadium operators can serve patrons, the higher financial returns they make. Our experience at other stadiums undoubtedly helps attract business enquiries, but we still need to deliver in terms of price, reliability and quality.”
Besides sporting stadiums, Hoshizaki Lancer has supplied beer, post mix and ice systems for almost 25,000 bars across the world.
