The second annual High Country Hops festival, a celebration of Victoria’s High Country Brewers and the 2016 hop harvest, will be held on 19 March in the grounds of Bridge Road Brewers.

The festival brings together local hop growers and like-minded craft brewers, including the four brewers of the High Country Brewery Trail; Black Dog Brewery, Bridge Road Brewers, Bright Brewery and Sweetwater Brewing Company. Rutherglen Brewery will also have its beer on offer.

This family-friendly festival is a celebration of hops, but also features local food producers, musicians, performers, children’s activities and even a chance to try your hand at some archery.

“It’s a great day out for the High Country Breweries involved and punters alike, fantastic atmosphere and good vibes to celebrate our High Country Brewery Trail and the awesome hops that are grown in our neck of the woods,” said James Booth from Black Dog Brewery.

Hop Products Australia will again support the event, offering a hop knowledge stand explaining what hops are, and how they are grown and processed.

For those wishing to travel to the festival from Melbourne, the Gertrude Hotel will be organising a bus from the city to join in the action. For more information, call (03) 9419 2823.
