After a successful launch across Western Australia, Gage Roads Brew Co is bringing Huey Coastal Lager to Queensland with the support of Gold Coast-based lifestyle brand The Mad Hueys.
Released in celebration of the brewery’s 20th anniversary earlier this year, Huey Coastal Lager is described as a clean, crisp and layered all-natural lager. Brewed with Saaz hops and all-Aussie malted barley, it’s a mid-strength beer crafted without any added sugar, tetra hops, additives or preservatives.
Founded by brothers Shaun and Dean Harringon, The Mad Hueys brand has a close connection to surfing and fishing. Gage Roads’ Aaron Heary says the pair couldn’t be a better match.
“You couldn’t have a better fit. Gage Roads has always been about celebrating Australia’s love for coastal living with good times and good beers by the coast, and the Mad Hueys do that better than anyone. We’re stoked to partner up with the guys to help show Queenslanders what Huey Coastal Lager is all about,” he stated.
Shaun added: “This whole thing hits close to home for us. It’s about backing a homegrown Aussie business that shares our lifestyle, our values, and our energy. This is an opportunity to back a proper Aussie beer company in a tough, competitive market. This isn’t about slapping a logo on a stubby. It’s a chance to grow something real with a company that actually gives a shit.”
Founded two decades ago by brothers Bill and John Hoedemaker, Gage Roads Brew Co has grown from modest beginnings into one of Australia’s leading independent craft breweries. In the last decade alone, Gage Roads has sold more than 3.7 million cartons of beer nationwide, and fast forward to 2025, the brewery has surpassed 10 million litres of beer in one year for the first time.
