The Beer & Brewer Awards 100 Best Beers of 2012 have been calculated with a few surprises in store for the hard working breweries that made it onto the list.

Following its big win at the Beer & Brewer Awards in 2012 – along with pretty much every other award – Feral Brewing Co, of course, took out the Number One position with their much-loved Feral Hop Hog brew. Another title for Brendan Varis and Will Irving to add to their already packed trophy cabinet.

Stone & Wood’s beloved Pacific Ale took out second place with Little Creatures’ classic Pale Ale nabbing third.

The top ten was also rounded out by Nail Stout,The Monk Chief,Matilda Bay Redback Original, Feral Watermelon Warhead, Coopers Pale Ale, Two Birds Golden Ale, and Matilda Bay Alpha Pale Ale

Interestingly, just 60 breweries took out all the positions in the Top 100 with 43 per cent of the beers coming from a total of 17 brewers.

Lion – as a whole – topped the brewery count with 10 beers making it onto the list with its brands Little Creatures – with three beers – Hahn, Knappstein, Kosciusko, Mad Brewers, Swan, White Rabbit and XXXX all rating places.

The Top 100 is calculated using strict criteria that can be read below. The booklet also features all of the Australia and New Zealand winners of the 2012 Beer & Brewer Awards, including profiles of the winners and ranked winners lists.

Copies of the booklets will be distributed with copies of Issue 24 of Beer & Brewer. Subscribers that already have their magazines and interested parties can download copies here:
