Hello, and welcome to the Point of Brew blog, a new blog about all things beer. It will include content, news and opinions that don't quite make it into the pages of Beer and Brewer. Welcome, willkommen, bienvenue...
Hello, and welcome to the Point of Brew blog. You might ask, "Why start a blog when you've already got a magazine?" The simple answer is that beer is going through some very exciting times at the moment with new breweries opening every other week, new beers being launched, takeovers, closures and all sorts of other beer news that doesn't necessarily make it into the pages of a quarterly magazine. So Point of Brew will be a home to all sorts of miscellany that doesn't fit into the mag. As its name suggests it will also be home to more forthright discussion and opinion than I would inflict upon the readers of the magazine - you pay good money to read things other than my opinion in the mag. Here you're paying nothin' so I figure I don't need to worry about giving you value for money! I will try to keep adding content regularly - there is nothing worse than a blog that starts and never updates...except a blog that updates regularly with crap. I will try to find a middle ground - and I don't mean post garbage infrequently! I hope to keep you updated and informed about what's happening in the world of beer, post things that come across my desk and things that I pick up around the place and colour it with a little bit of commentary. Please note that as with all opinion - mine won't necessarily be more informed than your average bar room discussion (As a side note, I was considering calling it "Ill-informed Brews" which might give you an idea of what to expect). That said, if anything does turn out to be wrong or ill-informed, rest assured I will correct it. Anyway, if you've found it, I hope that you read it. If you read it, I hope you'll still come back.
