I've used alot of the Cascade Spicy Ghost as a base for mostly ales along with the yeast provided. I usually add some additional darker malts for additional flavoring. Never had any "soapy" taste although one mate did comment that he thought there was a "chemical" undertone to 1 batch.. I put it down to his tastebuds taking the afternoon off. Maybe it was my tastebuds taking the day off.
I've now switched to other base malts - mostly Muntons & other classier types.
