Home distillation - 2007/07/16 15:40 Anyone here home distill as well as brew?

I've got an idea for a water saving cooling system better than running from the tap, and wondering if I can bounce some ideas off some of you.

Re:Home distillation - 2008/08/12 19:13 Hi, The Still Spirits pump is ok, not to impressed with it..depends on how much lift you need and what condenser you are using. Essencia has a water saving unit as well..I havent had a chance to try it since we got it in the shop..looks a bit stronger than the Still Spirit pump..Im using the Pure Distilling condenser running the cooling water from a water tank outside my brew room to my still and back to the tank. Because of the lift needed (2mt) The only pump that has worked was a garden pond pump, 3000lt/h with a 2.5mt head. We sell for $150.00.
It works well for any of the condensers we sell. Ill post my findings with the Essencia pump when I get to it if anybody wants to know.
